3 conseils pour lutter contre le vieillissement cutané

3 tips for fighting skin aging

Know your skin

Whether you camouflage them, or more or less assume them, the appearance of wrinkles is inevitable. They result from a progressive process of skin aging. So how are wrinkles formed?

The facial skin consists of 3 parts: the epidermis (on the surface), the dermis (intermediate layer) and the hypodermis (the deepest layer). From a certain age of the folds on the skin begin to appear, it is an alteration of the skin which appears due to the drop in production of collagen and elastin. These 2 proteins in the dermis are in charge of "nourishing" the epidermis in order to maintain soft and firm skin. In the event of loss of collagen and Ealstine, we speak of natural or intrinsic aging of the skin.

The first wrinkles are generally visible on the face, neck and neckline. Indeed the skin is more fine and fragile, it is also where it is most exposed to the sun. There are therefore 2 types of factors for the appearance of wrinkles:

  • Internal factors

We are talking about a low presence of collagen and elastin between dermis and epidermis, but also less effective cell renewal due to the age of the person. On the other hand, in women as in men, the rate of estrogen in the body plays a role in the development of wrinkles since a low rate (especially in cases of menopauses) means a decrease in the production of collagen protein. Finally, the too large presence of free radicals (molecules obtained by a chemical reaction between oxygen and nitrogen) with our cells also alter the resistance of our skin: this phenomenon is called oxidative stress.

  • External factors

The sun, and in particular exposure to UV (UVA, UVB, UVC) is the major factor in the premature appearance of wrinkles. Ultraviolets are responsible for the drop in production of elastin, altering the dermis and the epidermis: the skin relaxes and does not find its original form. Certainly the sun brings vitamin D but it also allows the creation of free radicals whose presence is harmful for other cells. Pollution is also an external factor with a real impact on the skin: the pollution particles that your face receives daily decrease your immune system and therefore its ability to keep its flexibility.

Prevent rather than cure

Conducting a reasonable lifestyle, that is to say with a regular sport, a balanced diet, and a significant consumption of water will allow you to reach 3 pillars for healthy skin.
Admittedly, this will not make the first fine lines disappear, nor the exempt wrinkles already installed, but avoid overloading your body with external factors that accelerate skin aging is one of the effective advice that is given to you. Indeed, just like the excess sun, alcohol, tobacco and excess coffee are enemies of your skin; Whether for skin aging or dull complexion, pimples, etc. It is well known that the body regenerates faster at night, a good sleep therefore comes into play in muscle recovery and in cell renewal in particular of your hypodermis , dermis and epidermis.

Against wrinkles and their appearance, hydration is the key. In general, the skin needs fat and water: when a skin is dehydrated it needs that water and hydrating assets are brought, while dry skin needs a contribution in oils or plant balm. Thanks to good hydration, the cells are full of water and therefore restore their initial shape to your skin, that is to say plumped and plump in addition to eliminating the feeling of tightness.

We will never repeat it enough, but putting sun protection daily is one of the best ways to delay the presence of wrinkles. Knowing your sun capital and phototype is another asset, because by taking note of this information you can avoid overexposure to the sun and know which SPF index to choose (see SPF SPF Sun Cream). In addition, the skins are not all equal to the attacks of the sun, for information: Asian skin is thicker and therefore less vulnerable than finer European skin.

If you have their twenties, do not start to panic for the appearance of wrinkles, there is no specific age because it will especially depend on your genetic heritage and the other factors that we have just described. However, there are indeed periods on which you will notice your skin change and lose in flexibility. Here are the different phases:

  • 20/30 years

The skin shows signs of dehydration, fine lines forms in particular around the eyes. Free radicals begin to have effect, the skin is weakened.

Tip: Hydrate the skin in depth with a cream or serum, well exfoliating in order to eliminate dead cells and give way to the news. Seal the hydration Bring by a serum with an oily macerate or an oil.

  • 30/40 years

To dehydration is added the skin drought. Expression wrinkles are growing as well as the wrinkles of the eye area. The skin is less tense due to the loss of collagen.

ADVICE : Bet on night creams with active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, niacinamide or marine collagen. An eye outline cream is also effective in tightening the skin in this place where it is very fine. A vitamin C serum to be applied preferably in the morning can be perfect for giving you a good -looking effect, boosting collagen production and reducing pigment tasks due to sun exposure.

  • 40/50 years

Each year the production of collagen and elastin falls, you notice less flexible and less firm skin. In addition to expression wrinkles, sun exposure can develop pigment tasks on your face and body.

Advice: Continue hydration as much as possible, focus on anti-aging creams and serum with active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid or retinol. Please note: retinol is an effective anti-aging asset which, used too often or in too strong concentration, can attack the skin. Never use at the same time as vitamin C.

  • 50 years and +

The skin is relaxed and marked by more or less deep wrinkles. Total loss of elasticity observed, as well as a less uniform complexion and tightness.

Tip: it is only a question of moisturizing but also nourishing the skin. Use a vegetable balm or an oil in addition to a moisturizer with the active ingredients mentioned above. Continue retinol in the form of cream or serum.
